I created this recipe as a spinoff of one that I saw somewhere years ago. The key is in the breadcrumbs, they keep the juiciness in and allow the flavors to really come alive! It is great with Chipotle Dry rub, avocado relish, bacon, you name it.

Although it may be tempting to use a leaner hamburger mix, DON’T DO IT! 80/20 is the way to get a juicy burger, and the addition of pork gives it an amazingly rich flavor.

  • 1 lb. Ground Pork
  • 1 lb. Ground Hambuger (80/20 mix)
  • 1/4 cups of breadcrumbs
  • Ground Pepper
  • Canola oil
  • Kosher or sea salt right before they go on the grill

Step 1

Mix the ground pork and ground beef with the pepper and breadcrumbs (gently, don’t over work the meat)

Step 2

Form into patties

Step 3

Use your thumb to press down a divot into the middle of the patty. This makes sure the patties don’t bulge in the middle when cooking. - Remember this tip!

Step 4

Coat with a light coating of canola oil and sea/kosher salt right before putting them on the grill.

Step 5

Cook for 5-6 minutes a side on high heat.
