Chipotle Dry Rub

  • Prep Time : 10m

This dry rub is probably one of my favorite and most versatile rubs ever. It has a smokey flavor with a bit of heat to it, although you can modify that by using less chipotle powder.

I make this stuff and keep it in a glass jar so I have it when I need it. It is amazing on a dry-aged ribeye, burgers, grilled ciabatta or your cereal in the morning.

  • 4 tablespoons chipotle powder
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • Kosher salt & pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons cumin seeds

Step 1

Put the bay leaves and cumin seeds in a coffee mill and grind until they are broken up but not a powder or better yet, crush them with a mortar and pestle.

Step 2

Add the chipotle powder, onion powder, kosher salt, pepper and smoked paprika to the bay leaves and mix thoroughly.
